We are excited to offer for sale this incredibly rare and collectible 1929 Lincoln Model L at Left Coast Classics. Lincoln's Model L Type-177 7-passenger Sport Touring was introduced mid-year 1929. 174 of these rare Model L Lincoln's were produced including a fleet of 17 police cars which were purchased by the Chicago Police Department to keep up with Al Capone and other criminal characters in the windy city.
This particular car was purchased 20 years ago by a local, California collector shortly after it's complete restoration by it's previous owner in Bakersfield, California. This Lincoln is believed to have resided in California most if not it's entire life. It's well preserved restoration shows nicely.
Car has been stored indoors, maintained as needed and used sparingly for parades and local car shows. The top was replaced a few years ago at which time the bows were refinished and chrome work was done also. The car shows some light patina yet is still elegant and lovely as ever. The leather interior is in nice shape as is the paint. The chrome looks good with some aging. The fold down seats are in fine condition as is the rear windshield. Includes rear-mount trunk with slats.
The car starts; runs and drives nicely with good tires and brakes, working choke, and no smoking or undesirable sounds or noises. Great opportunity to own a truly rare and collectible piece of history.
