1931 Cadillac for sale from Left Coast Classics. Current owner purchased the car in 1959 and brought to the San Francisco area where it has been since. The car spent much of it's life stored indoors in except for a few trips to car shows and a couple of movie appearances.
The engine was professionally rebuilt a couple of years and a few hundred miles ago by a reputable, knowledgeable builder in the area who is known for his expertise with engines from this area. It was bored and given new rings and pistons, set up for unleaded fuel and dynamically balanced. The car starts; runs and drives beautifully. It can idle on hot days for extended periods of time cool and quietly. The transmission shifts exactly as intended. The brakes are maintained and work well. All of the gauges work, even the heater works. The clock, I am told, needs to be cleaned. The car has been superbly mechanically maintained and is very reliable.
The cosmetics will be for the next good steward to decide. There certainly is a beauty to the patina found on this old gal with her original interior and mostly original chrome. Even the rubber on the pedals and running boards beg to tell a story. Whatever her future holds, she is a fabulous candidate for a cosmetic restoration or an intriguing conversation piece in her current, well loved state.
Slide shows below include pictures of the engine during the rebuild process, scanned photographs dating back to the 1950's and a few other fun tidbits. There are also videos that give you the opportunity to take a virtual ride, walk around the car or open the hood and hear her strong, rebuilt motor purr.
This is an unusual opportunity to own this well preserved, low mileage California Cadillac. Please contact me with questions or to arrange a viewing. Thank you for your consideration. Also, a special thanks to my neighbors at The Valley of the Moon Winery for graciously allowing me to photograph my cars at their incredible vineyards in Glen Ellen.
