1962 Lincoln Continental Convertible for sale in Sonoma California. Excellent candidate for restoration. Southern California car since new and still maintains both original black and yellow license plates.
Odometer showing 10,745, presumably has turned. Looks to have had one repaint long ago. Originally Platinum from the factory. Interior originally blue Metallic. Car has a solid body with just a small amount of rust in the rear deck-lid (see photos). The floors are absolutely solid as well as the rocker panels, quarters, doors, fenders, etc.
There has been a small amount of mediocre bodywork done (see photos) on the very front passenger side fender, a bit in on the right front door and more on the right rear door. Otherwise, I do not see any signs of previous body work elsewhere. The chrome and stainless looks to all be there and is 95% straight.
The glass all around is in nice shape, too. As I understand it the car was in good working condition and even looked pretty nice cosmetically until it began to get stored outside maybe a half dozen years ago. It was in Orange County, California for most if not all of it's life.
The interior is in good condition and with just some detailing should be usable as-is. The door panels are well preserved, too. The top keeps the car covered yet the zip-out rear plastic window is shot. The car starts, runs and idles well. Surprisingly, all options are in working order except the air conditioning system.
The transmission will go into reverse but will not move the car in drive. The power top system needs to be gone through. All in all this is a great old desirable Lincoln that is absolutely worthy of a restoration of any caliber. The California title is clear and no DMV back fees are due.
