Original California Car with just 32K actual miles! Current owner bought in 1990 with just 20,000 original miles. Purchased new by a local piano teacher named Melba E. McKenna on November 19th of 1963 at Prolo Chevrolet in Santa Cruz, California.
It has been meticulously kept and never left outside. The body is very clean and rock-solid. While it has a few minor imperfections, it does not appear to have had any accidents. The quarters are especially solid and look unscathed. This is the original paint! At some point the trunk lid was discolored by a spill of some sort and was repainted.
The interior is totally original and incredible! It is soft and pliable and should continue to hold up well. The trim, chrome, glass and rubber are all in beautiful condition as well. There is a small scuff on the lower right side of the front bumper.
The original 6 cylinder was replaced by the current (2nd) owner with a 350 block and 327 high performance top end with camel hump fuel injection heads. The car has a 4:11 posi-traction rearend.
The original 6 cylinder engine is available with the car should the buyer desire to keep it, it is located in Hamilton Montana and is included upon request. New owner to pay shipping.
Also available separately is a complete, running 425HP QB dual quad 409 engine that was purchased directly from the dealer many, many years ago. (Stamped: L21753T0524QB, castings on rear of block are: 3788068 B2 62), correctly coded carburetors, heads, intake manifolds also included. Car has the original three-speed column shifter with factory overdrive.
Also sports the original, super rare AM/FM radio. We have the original hubcaps and will include with the car.
Includes original California issued black license plates and dealer frames; bill of sale, cancelled check written to the dealership, purchase receipt, sales contract, cushion broadcast copy, both sets of original keys, complimentary dealer first aid kit and owner identification card.
It even comes with five like new road maps that have been safely stored in the glove box since new! Of course all of the books and manuals are included, too. Click here to view these documents and accessories.
