We have this fantastic 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle for sale. This Chevelle Malibu was manufactured in Fremont California in July of 1966 and as far as I can tell the vehicle spent most of it's time in Southern California based on overall condition.
The speedometer reads 75k and I believe this is accurate as the original suspension is tight and aligned perfect with no shims except two and the original paint on the steering wheel has no wear spots and the original accelerator pedal shows minimal wear and vehicle has numbers matching drive train.
The vehicles exterior had no rust in the body panels, floor pans, trunk pan and frame rails and very little body filler was used. As you can see, the car is incredibly straight. The original color code KK was Artesian Turquoise and was properly changed to Matador Red, correct for a 1966 Chevelle. The body is perfectly straight with no waves or ripples and dent free. It has a combination of new and original moldings.
The interior was completely replaced using OER replacement materials. The floors were treated with rust inhibitor and covered with Dynamat insulation and molded carpet. The seats were completely rebuilt; all springs were tied, new foam and covers installed.
Door panels have all new handles, armrests, window tracks, door fuzzies and new tinted glass. Has new dash plastic trim and dash pad and still has the original head liner. The sound system is Custom Autosound with custom speaker kick panels, mid dash speakers and rear speaker enclosures using Polk Audio. The Radio is 200 watt AM/FM and an IPOD connection is in the glove box.
Engine is original to the car and is a 283/195 horse that is tight and does not smoke or consume oil. It is stock with the exception of an Edelbrock Torque manifold and an Edelbrock 650 cfm Carburetor. chrome valve covers and air cleaner. This Chevelle starts; runs and drives magnificently!
The power steering works great and very responsive with very little steering wheel play and no leaks present. Brakes are like new with heavy duty finned drums as original. Brakes have been purged and cleaned and function as new. The transmission is original to the car; it is the two-speed Powerglide that has no leaks, fresh seals and filter along with a new modulator.
The differential is original to the car as is a 10 bolt with 3.08 gearing and does not leak or chatter. Exhaust is dual siamessed for balanced tone and mufflers are mounted in the rear and present quite cabin noise and a low toned rumble just above that of stock exhaust.
All new weather stripping and originals were replaced when the vehicle was recently restored so that doors, trunk and hood fit snugly and deliver a solid sound when closing the doors. Tires in front are 215x60x14 Yokohama Radial 388 with 14x7 Cragar wheels and 225x60x15 in the rear. All lights switches and indicators function and harness has not been spliced up and still very flexible and pliable.
This is a fantastic, super solid and well restored California car that still retains the original black plates. Its ready to enjoy now and will not disappoint! See all 325 pictures plus videos below. Car ships from Orange County, California.
