1966 Ford Mustang Convertible for sale in Sonoma California. This one registered owner California car, has been here since new.
Purchased on April 18th of 1966 at McCoy Ford in Anaheim, California and even includes the original window sticker and black/gold issued license plates. Nicely equipped from new with factory Cruise O Matic, power steering, power brakes and desirable interior decor group with Pony interior and full length center console.
The car lived in the Orange County suburb of La Harbra heights and was last registered in 1987 and parked with just 78,000 original miles on it. At that time the car was brought to the family winery in Sonoma, California. In 2006 the car was moved outside of the barn where it continued to sit until this January before bringing to our shop.
The paint looks to be original as does the interior. The body has a few issues but is actually quite straight. I had the car polished so that it would be easier to see the true condition. It had a light hit to the left rear quarter and what looks to be a deep scrape to the passenger side door (now fixed).
The rear panel also was slightly pushed in. The car is rust free with two exceptions, across the front of the hood where the Ford emblem is and where the floors got moisture trapped in them when the car was outside doing damage to the front driverside foot-well area and under the rear left seat bottom. Otherwise, the rest of the car is free of rust. As you will see, the original seating, dash pad and door panels are all in usable condition.
The car has not been started since the late 80's so the condition of the motor is unknown. Being sold as a project. Clear, California title in hand, all fees are current.
The car has great sentimental value to the niece of the original owner who is a good friend of mine. Her hope is that we can find a buyer who would be willing to send a few photos our way once it is restored.
