1968 Chevy Corvette C3 for sale. Purchased new in San Francisco from David Varner Chevrolet by it's one, long-time owner in 1968 when she was just 19 years old, this mostly original C3 still wears its original black, California license plate and selling dealer frame.
Driven mostly in her youth then used lightly or stored later in her life. Built in St. Louis, Missouri, and factory finished in Silverstone Silver with black leather and equipped with its numbers matching 327ci 300HP engine, original Turbo Hydra-Matic three-speed automatic transmission, Posi-traction (limited slip) rear end, power brakes, AM/FM Stereo, leather seating and T-Tops with the removable rear window.
The family states that the 77,4xx miles are actual but because in its later life the car spent many years stored outside in the driveway the exterior has aged and obviously will need a cosmetic restoration. I've included a photo showing how I found the car in the driveway in May of this year.
It had been off the road since 2004 though I was told that in preparation to begin using again it was serviced in around 2016. We picked the car up, trailered back to the wine country and with little effort, the car started up.
This C3 starts runs and drives and shifts fine. The engine is strong and does not smoke. While the handling seems fine it could be better, it appears most if not all original under the car (see photos). The tires were replaced fairly recently as there is little or no wear and no dry rot or cracking.
The original exhaust needs to be replaced. I have since driven it around town several times without issue though due to its time out-of-use suggest getting acquainted with it locally before taking any long, out-of-town trips.
The interior appears to be mostly if not all original. The dash is in good shape but leather, door panels, and rugs are aged. It is fine and can be used-as-is but a good candidate to freshen up. All of the systems and gauges are in working order except the clock and the RPM gauge.
The radio turns on but a new antenna is needed. The headlamp doors open and close and the wiper door system functions great as well. The heater and defroster are in good working order as well as the lights though we need to and will be replacing a headlamp and taillamp bulb prior to shipping.

1-owner cars from this era are disappearing and quickly becoming a thing of the past making this cool, one-owner California C3 a great contender for a restoration. Title was lost so I prefer to sell with Bill of Sale only but can procure a new title if required in your state (as is required when sellling in California).
Please advise at time of sale. Be sure to check out all the photos and the video.
