1979 VW Super Beetle Convertible for Sale in Sonoma

Rock solid 1979 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible for sale with just one owner and only 50,000 original miles! This bug has enjoyed the good life with just one owner since brand new.

The first leg of it's life was spent in the Silicon Valley with it's last few years in the wine country. It has been well maintained and garaged its entire life.

The body is rust-free and straight and the original paint still shines. The trunk is nice, clean with no prior damage or repairs, even the original trim inserts are intact and in-place along with the spare and jack. The wiring is tidy and stock, except for a modern radio added years ago, all is factory. The floors are absolutely rock-solid as well.

The interior is in fantastic shape as well! The seat covers were redone in their original color in the not too distant past; door panels, rugs, headliner are all in terrific shape. The dash is original with no cracking whatsoever! Usually we find plastic dash caps on these cars - not this car - that is the actual, original dash and it is in terrific shape!

Everything works in the car including the clock. The top is nearly new, it folds up and down with ease.

The mechanics are terrific! Not only does it have only 50k original miles (about 1,500 miles per year average), it was recently serviced. They re-packed the wheel bearings, replaced the master cylinder and wheel cylinders, tie-rod ends, valve adjustment as well as adjusted the injectors, ignition, oil service, new battery, etc.

The only thing that will need replacing in the foreseeable future is the muffler though it sounds fine right now as-is. The tires have at least 90% tread and no dry-rot.

As expected there are some imperfections after 33 years but nothing significant. (See "Walk-around" video for an extremely detailed presentation). The rear deck-lid was resprayed but over the years has not aged the same as the factory paint. The owner states that her aunt borrowed the car, got bumped in the rear and returned the car repaired.

I have gone under the car and inspected it thoroughly. Everything looks to be in proper order. There are extensive photos of this area in the slide-show.
