Nice, low mileage 1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SL for sale finished in Cabernet Red Poly with Palomino Leather interior. This nice old 560SL has had two long-term owners in the Winston-Salem area since new and its most recent owner here in California. It includes books, original data card, and both sets of keys.

The 5.6L V8 starts runs and drives nicely, burns clean, and has plenty of power. Its current owner was told that it had been stored for several years before purchasing so he immediately sent the car to Mercedes-Benz specialists Hammond Autowerks where the car underwent nearly $8,000 in services to ensure its drivability and reliability. Receipt available. Since cooling, suspension, braking, and general maintenance items were all gone through the car is driving wonderfully.

The rare Cabernet Red Poly paint looks nice. It appears to have been nicely redone many years ago and looks good though as we'd expect there are some small imperfections and scratches around the car due to age and normal use. I don't see any signs of previous damage and suspect that the respray was likely due to thinning clearcoat, more common in the 1980s, especially if the car was left out during the warm months.

The cloth top is in good shape as the photos will show, the wheels are the factory-finished originals wrapped in a good set of Italian Michelin Defender 205/65R15's installed barely over 1,000 miles ago. Overall it's nice looking and very presentable as-is.

The inside is nice and comfortable. The Palomino interior shows well, the leather was a bit faded so we professionally dyed it and it looks great. The inside of the car is quiet and comfortable and smoke-free. The steering wheel is in nice shape. The clock along with the original radio is inoperable so this would be a good time to upgrade to something modern. Overall the interior shows well and is comfortable for long drives and short around-town bouts.

This is a nice old driver-quality R107 with a short owners list finished in an uncommon color that should bring years of enjoyment to its next owner. (Please note that at the time of photographing the interior the ABS/SRS lights were on. We are addressing these and plan to sell with the items resolved.
