This Very Cool 2001 Qvale Mangusta for Sale Has Been Nicely Upgraded

Very clean, super nice 2001 Qvale Mangusta (aka De Tomaso Biguá) for sale. Between 1999-2002 only 284 of these special little cars were produced. This particular California example has a recent full service, has been fastidiously well-maintained, has a short owners list, and a fresh, newer 302 Crate V8 along with a Tremec 6-Speed manual, exhaustive service records, a spotless Carfax report documenting servicing at every recommended interval by British Motor Car Distributors of San Francisco.

Includes the owners' manual assorted brochures and articles and both sets of keys. We sold this Mangusta to its current owner in 2020 in Massachusetts who has moved back to California with the car. It now has just over 84,900 miles. Download records and Carfax report here.

This Mangusta starts runs and drives beautifully. It has a dealer-installed Crate 302 motor with 10,000 miles on it along with an engine wiring harness, alternator, power steering pump, AC compressor, and all engine sensors. Shifting has been dramatically upgraded with a Tremec TR-6060 transmission (used in 2007–present in Ford Shelby GT500, Ford Falcon (FG) I6T, 5.4L, and 5.0L supercharged V8s).

Handling is tight and nimble and it rides on immaculate, unscuffed Ferrari 360 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero tires with 265/35 ZR18s in the rear and 225/40 ZR18s upfront. The slightly wider track provides tremendous handling improvement. The Brembo slotted disc brakes front and rear stop the car on a dime and the suspension feels great.

The exhaust system and catalytic converters are all in good order. There's no leaking at the oil pan or the bottom of the engine, the bolts are dry. The HydraTrack limited-slip differential is newer and leak-free. This is truly a fantastic handling Mangusta.

The exterior is very clean and the Nero paint has a nice gloss all around. The trim, glass, and rubber all present well. It has had some minor touch up as needed but no record or signs of accidents. (See Carfax). Overall the exterior is in very nice shape and the Ferrari alloy wheels set it off nicely!

The interior is in beautiful condition with very little wear. The leather looks nice with comfortable seating, nice panels, and headliner, all working switches, gauges, and accessories. The power top opens and closes easily. Minor wear on the lower left drivers to bolster as to be expected. It is a very clean non-smoker car, very comfortable with a nice leather scent.
